THE PRESIDENT OF THE UAE CUP (GROUP 1 PA - UK ARABIAN DERBY)
The deadline for early closing entries for The President Of The UAE Cup (Group 1 PA) (UK Arabian Derby) at Ascot on 23rd July is Wednesday 8th June at 12:00hrs local time. 

This race, for 4 year old Purebred Arabians, is always an eagerly anticipated highlight of the Arabian Racing calendar. Runners will compete over 1 mile 2 furlongs for £50,000 - the most valuable purse of the UK season. Last year, out of a field of 11, the superb Umm Qarn Mare Raqiyah beat Aziz in a very exciting contest.

The race is part of a very prestigious Thoroughbred card which includes The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (sponsored by Betfair), which last year saw Harbinger emerge as one of the top racehorses in the world.

Entries also close tomorrow for the Group 2 contest at Newbury Racecourse on Tuesday 21st June 2011.

The Hawthorn Hill International Stakes (Group 2 PA) has been established at Newbury Racecourse, the home of Arabian racing, for almost 8 years now. It has attracted quality runners from the UK, France, Oman & Qatar, including top rated horses Jaafer, Nokomys & No Risk Al Maury on several occasions.
