A total of 102 top-class entries have been received by the Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO) at the early closing stage for Dubai International Arabian Raceday this morning.
The principal interest, no doubt brought on by the change of date to Sunday 23 September, was the number of entries received for the Emirates Equestrian Federation International Stakes (Group 2 PA) for 3 year old Purebred Arabians only. With 29 entries, this is more than double the number of entries received for this race last year and more than in any other previous year!
ARO Racing Manager, Antonia Newman, commented: “We are of course delighted with the strength of entries received for this prestigious International Arabian Raceday. Once again, Dubai International Arabian Raceday promises to showcase English talent alongside international competition with entries hailing from France, Holland, Sweden, Belgium, America, Qatar & Oman.
“Most exciting of all, last year’s three champions, ASRAA MIN ALBARQ [Shadwell Dubai], AZIZ [Zaabeel] & SANAGHAM [Hatta] each hold entries to defend their respective titles. Whilst winner of the Emirates Equestrian Federation Stakes, USIMIR DE MONTEGUT, steps up to claim the UK Sprint Championship alongside SCYPHIOS, DIVAMER & HARRAN.”
2012 marks the 30th Anniversary of Dubai International Arabian Raceday, staged under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance.
Supplementary entries for this meeting close at 12:00pm on Wednesday 12 September with declarations to run by 11:00am on Thursday 20 September. The full list of early closing entries can be downloaded below.
