SATURDAY 17th -18th SEPTEMBER 2005 TOULOUSE / FRANCE

The annual French Arab sale organised by the AFAC (French Arabian Racing Association) and GOFFS France will take place at 2pm on the 17th September 2005 at TOULOUSE on the eve of the ARABIAN BREEDER’S CUP where seven races will be run at Toulouse La Cépière racetrack. The first sale was hosted in 1994 at Toulouse, then over the last few years it has taken place at Saint Cloud (Paris) and this year it will be held back in the South West, in the heart of the Arab breeding region. The sale is complemented by the BREEDERS CUP races run the following day. Many French bred graduates of the Goffs-AFAC sale have gone on to win the major Arabian races not only on a European level but International, in the United Arab Emirates and in Qatar. Three winners of the Dubai World Cup, the richest Arab race in the world, include: MAGIC DE PIBOUL (sold in 1998 to Sheikh Kalifa Al Nayhan -Dubai Kahayla Classic Gr1 and Prix du Président at Chantilly), NEZ D'OR (sold in 1999 to HE H Al Ketbi - Dubai Kahayla Classic 2002) and BOPP MOON ( sold in 2000, President Challenge Derby at Deauville 2001 and Dubai Kahayla Classic Gr1 2003 ); along with these are last winters classic winners: DJELMANE , HASNA DE FAUST and KERBEL LOTOIS. The catalogue for 2005 contains 57 Lots selected for the races. 36 Horses in training, and recent performers in France and Britain as 2 and 3 year olds such as KENZO DU LOUP, BRAMATUERO, CARTHAGENA, VIREVOLTE, PEGASSUS … twenty-one 2YO’s, Yearlings and Foals with very good pedigrees, one of whom is the daughter of ALSAKBE and DANSE AVEC L’EAU and two progeny by AMER out of champions EMMA DU CAYROU and OPHELYA.
