Without Orchestra Rach and Zinia VE, who both provided a serious challenge last year, Zells Kate will be the favourite to win this race. Zells Kate by S W Zell X Zell Lady N Red (Zachzell)and bred by Lynn Kitto, ran with the above mares in her last two outings, finishing 3º place in both races. Zells Kate is the actual record holder over 1.000 meters, Turf, with a time of 1'05"707.
The chestnut mare has a big chance to present her owner Almir José Ribeiro, with the GP Mahabb trophy as part of the Wathba Stallion Cup Festival.
Zells Zenyatta , a talented mare may surprise the other runners, as she broke her maiden very easily in her first ever start, so, if the mare by S W Zell and Cowboys Gal (Wiking) makes it to the starting gates, her rivals may have a big problem on their hands.
Another steady performer, is Cantiga VE, by Feitizzo Rach X Unic Appeal JP (Borsalino K), bred by José Silvestre Viana Egreja, who is the record holder on the 1.200 meters, Dirt track, at Jockey Club de São Paulo, with 1'25"738.
Mares to watch are ,Ciranda VE and Miss El Challare, both rookies and trained at Hipódromo de São Vicente, the famous Brazilian silver racecourse.
Vertente Rach and Guinevere Rach also entered the first running of the GP Mahabb (G3). Both horses are already winners, and they will provide a good balance between all contenders and guarantee an exciting race.
