Yousef Ben Taher Mehaoued’s MOLHEB AL NAIF (Amer x Kesbah) registered his sixth straight win in Qatar with a fantastic ride from Gerald Avranche in the mile long run. Armed with a superb strike and a C&D victory last time round, Molheb Al Naif won comfortably, beating 2016 Qatar Derby topper ATEEJ (AF Albahar x Sahara Croixnoire), trained by French trainer Francois Rohaut, by a length. Harry Bentley helmed CARAB (Majd Al Arab x Cassels Celeste) was the first top three finish of the day for Champion Trainer Jassim Mohammed Ghazali Jahromi, having edged out Umm Qarn’s Samaa by a quarter of a length at the line.
