IFAHR secretary Hubert Lorenz visited Oman...

during a private journey to Oman last January, I had the opportunity to see the yearly horse festival which was held in the Royal Stud of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said from the Sultanate of Oman. The performances were really overwhelming for all spectators, but the most interesting presentation were the Arabian horse races. Unfortunately that kind of races are only held within the royal stud, but it would be great if neighbour gulf countries could come and race against Oman horses. That wouldn’t take a big effort., as I could see the basics needed for the organisation of such races are already installed and the Sultanate of Oman is anyway an IFAHR member. My thanks goes first of all to Lt.Col. A.Razak Al Shahwarzi and to Mr. Salim Suleiman Al-Mahrooqy for their great hospitality, a lot of chance for their effective ongoing work, and god bless the way to the Arabian international racing scene.
